Terms of Use

Last updated 2026-11-02 · By installing or using STEADY you agree to these terms.

In an emergency, call your local emergency number first. STEADY is a planning and reference tool. It does not contact anyone for you and does not know what is happening around you.

1. What STEADY is

STEADY is a mobile application that helps a household prepare for interruptions of power, water and communication. It offers an offline reference library, planning tools, inventory tracking and estimates based on figures you enter.

2. Informational content, not professional advice

The library and the estimates are general information compiled from public sources, with the source and review date shown on each entry. They are not medical, legal, engineering or safety advice for your specific situation, and they do not replace instructions from emergency services, utilities or public authorities. First aid entries describe commonly published guidance; they do not qualify you to treat anyone and are not a substitute for professional care.

3. Your responsibility

You decide what to store, what to do and when to seek help. Check expiry dates, local regulations and the suitability of any technique for your home before relying on it. Estimates depend on what you enter; unknown quantities are shown as unknown, not as zero, but the result is only as good as the inputs.

4. Purchases

5. Photo scan

The photo scan feature sends an image to our server and to a third-party AI provider to produce a list of items. Results may be wrong or incomplete; you must review them before saving. Do not photograph people, identity documents or anything you are not entitled to share. A scan that fails on our side is not charged.

6. Content updates

We aim to review and expand the library over time and to deliver updates to the app when it is online. Updates are provided on a best-effort basis. The purchase does not guarantee a specific number of future entries, features or a maintenance period, and we may retire entries that no longer meet our review standard.

7. Acceptable use

Do not reverse-engineer, scrape or redistribute the content library, circumvent purchase checks, or use the scan service in an automated or abusive way. We may rate-limit or block abusive use.

8. Intellectual property

The app, its design and its original content are ours or our licensors'. Public-domain guidance from government agencies remains public domain. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial household preparedness.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The app and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted availability. Preparedness outcomes depend on circumstances outside our control.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss, injury or damage arising from reliance on the app or its content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in that case they apply to the extent permitted.

11. Changes to the service and these terms

We may change or discontinue features and may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes are subject to the courts there, except where consumer law in your country gives you non-waivable rights.
